LIP CHRONICLES: LIFE UNDER LOCKDOWN EXHIBITION

London Independent Photography - Artist Talk: 3 November 2020

1 - 30 November 2020

In late 2019, the first virus cases of COVID-19 were announced, in China. On January 29, the first confirmed case transpired in the UK.

Here is a list of notes I made throughout Lockdown isolation. It reveals my experience of being in a space and place that was in a state of continuous flux. Feelings ranged from the sublime to the surreal, the optimistic to the despair, then acceptance and reality.

Physical Space

The time spent in nature presented the opportunity to be present and at peace. All senses worked together creating, a concentration of smell, acute awareness of sound, consciousness of the gentle touch of the breeze, and a panoramic sight so detailed and revealing.

Virtual Space

The light source of the computer screen became a social reality. A place that was not physical. The time was not relevant. The virtual space was cramped and overwhelming.
