I founded the Bath Photography Festival in 2018. The debut theme investigated what is Real and Unreal, with selected work shown in three venues across Bath. Fringe Arts Bath Festival (FAB) supported the festival. www.fringeartsbath.co.uk

Real/Unreal

We are bombarded, with photographic imagery every day, through news channels, social media, posters and signs, and product labels. These images can inspire us, make us question, and influence us. However, are the images portraying the truth?

Since the invention of photography in 1839, imagery has been susceptible to being doctored. The photographic image tends to be trusted as what you see is what you get. This ability to manipulate an image allows the photographer the opportunity to change, maybe deceive or alter the viewer’s perception.

Always remember and never forget that the unreal is so very real
