Visual Artist, Creative Photographer and Curator — open to collaborations and freelance work.

Bath, Southwest, UK.

As a visual artist and creative photographer, I explore themes of nature, place, and environment through sketching, printmaking, and both still and moving imagery. Collaborating closely with community-based environmental and wellbeing groups, I create reflective artworks that foster deeper connection with the natural world.

My current project, Working with Nature—supported by Arts Council England—is rooted in a process-led philosophy with ecology-driven narratives at its core. As part of this, I am developing arts facilitation workshops aimed at improving mental health by helping individuals reconnect with nature through creativity.

My work has been exhibited widely across the UK, including solo and group shows at venues such as the Royal West of England Academy (RWA), Pound Arts, Corsham, and The Victoria Art Gallery, Bath.

I also deliver creative photography across portraits, branding, travel, editorial, and documentary projects. Clients include: Bath Spa University, Bathscape, Trowbridge Town Hall, 44AD Artspace, Future Publishing, Frampton Manor and Bath Mind.

Testimonial

  • Simon has produced high-quality pictures for Bath City Farm to use on its online and print media. He really captured the essence of the farm paying attention to angle, detail and colour. He had a great way with the people he took pictures of, putting them at ease in front of the camera. Genuinely a delight to work with from all aspects. We are so pleased with the shots he took we want to use them for our Strategic Plan front page.

Helen Fisher, General Manager, Bath City Farm

  • Simon has produced many wonderful photographs for us that we are extremely pleased with; he is a charming chap to deal with, and we would certainly use his photography services again.

    Janie Clifford, Frampton Court Estate

  • Simon took some great photos of the Bath Film Festival Team in 2016. He really thought through the brief and what would work for the festival and the (extremely time-poor!) team. The photos he produced were great, and he delivered them the very next day.

Holly Tarquini, Executive Director At Bath Film Festival / F-Rated Founder

  • Simon has been instrumental in repositioning and communicating Trowbridge Town Hall. He has been adept at capturing the energy of public events and the decaying beauty of our building. Beyond this, he has a positive and professional attitude that makes him a pleasure to work with.

David Lockwood, Director at Trowbridge Town Hall

  • We would like to thank WECA for the chance to work with Simon Taylor over the last few months. Simon has done a great job, photographing sites, photographing key people who have dedicated their time and resources, creating imagery for blogs and education downloads, as well as website banners. Simon has also helped by adding written and visual content to our forthcoming website, as well as publishing/publicising our work through a photographic exhibition and a forthcoming article in Bath Life magazine.

This work is making us several steps closer to launching our website, which is a critical part of our plans to expand our work. He has also given us many ideas for making better use of visual content, to make our campaign ‘sing’. Thanks once again for this significant contribution to our non-profit organisation.
